I teach this song to first graders. After I sing each phrase, students echo with "oh yes" as they pat their knees twice. The next time we sing it, students take turns playing xylophones on octave E's on "oh yes."
This could also be used in 4th or 5th grade in the recorder unit as students practice their tones on low E.
