Don't Laugh at Me
Have you heard this song? The song was written and recorded by country singer, Mark Wills. I once saw Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) sing it and talk about his ant-bullying program during a back-to-school teacher institute day. The program is called Operation Respect, and you can order a free Don't Laugh at Me (DLAM) packet here. On their website it says:
Operation Respect/ESR also grants educators permission to reproduce the written DLAM materials, the copywritten CD and video, free of charge. If you would like to order multiple copies of the curriculum guides, VHS videos and CDs, please email your order to Elizabeth Kolodny at: ekolodny@operationrespect.org. All of the materials are available free of charge, courtesy of The McGraw-Hill Companies.
Gotta love free stuff! I teach the song to my students, and we sing it together at the monthly Character Counts assemblies. For the PowerPoint, I scanned the book illustrations.
