What a gorgeous song! I found this when I was looking for songs in 3. It would be good for teaching meter - or dotted half notes - or for experiencing multi-cultural music.
I found a recording on youtube to help with pronunciation. Her voice is magnificent. However, her version is in 4. My guess is, like a lot of folk songs in 3, the "updated" versions are recorded in the more-popular meter of 4. Don't get me started on my distaste for most remakes of The Star Spangled Banner or La Cucaracha! :-)
